Privacy Policy
Effective: September 2026
ExoCollect is a small developer demo. Here is what it currently stores and why.
What we store
We store your username, hashed password, account and login timestamps, profile details, planet collection, stamina, and daily mission progress and claims. We also store the time and policy version accepted at signup. The signup form does not ask for your email or date of birth.
These records run your account and the game. Your discoveries and display name can appear in public archives, planet pages, and leaderboards. Your profile page is currently limited to your own account. Please use a nickname and do not enter sensitive information.
Cookies and outside services
Cookies support login, card-game sessions, and form security. The current app has no advertising or analytics integrations.
Pages load libraries from jsDelivr, code.jquery.com, and the DataTables CDN. Those services receive connection information such as your IP address and browser details, even before signup. Server logs may also contain request and error information. The optional Google Forms feedback link and LinkedIn contact page have their own privacy policies.
Demo data is not permanent
Data stays in the database until it is deleted or the demo is reset; there is no automatic account-deletion schedule. Expired missions may remain as history. Accounts and discoveries may be lost or removed, and recovery is not guaranteed.
You can edit your profile and delete individual planets. For account deletion or other privacy requests, contact ExoCollect on LinkedIn. We may need to verify account ownership; never send your password.
A few important limits
Passwords are stored as hashes, not readable text, but no service can promise perfect security. The demo does not verify ages or have a parental-consent process; accepting the terms is not parental consent. Parents can contact us about a child's information or request its deletion.
We will update this notice as the project changes. Acknowledging it at signup is not permission for advertising or unrelated use of your information.
